Summer 2022 Projects: Farrier

Farrier Clinic Projects

Hi HEART Center, we just did a farrier clinic here at school and John the Farrier came to show us his job. What Jon did was he reshaped the shoe with heat so it was more comfortable on the horse when she walks. When he put it back on, she was not hurting on her foot anymore.

Everyone did projects on being a Farrier. These are our projects. We also listed our favorite part of the clinic and creating our projects.

Emma T.

Emma really liked watching Jack the Farrier put Sisu’s shoe back on. Emma’s favorite part of her project was drawing it.

Peyton C.

Peyton liked how John the Farrier put the shoe on Sisu. Peyton is very excited to have people learn from her project.

Justin F.

Justin liked when John the Farrier nailed the shoe on the horses foot. He also liked cutting out the hoof and seeing the frog of the horses foot for his game.

Skylar D.

Skylar thought the clinic was awesome. The way John the Farrier put the shoes on, shaped the shoe with heat, and learning about the job in general. The amount of money they can make was cool to learn about too. Skylar’s favorite part of her cross-word puzzle was the process of looking at pictures, remembering the word, and then typing the work into puzzle bank.

Holanie: Holanie didn’t get to participate in the clinic but she did research it and create a project. She liked learning more about the Farrier process and had fun creating her powerpoint project.

Elle B.

Elle enjoyed watching how John the Farrier put Sisu’s shoe on. Elle’s favorite part of her project was the process of making it.

Jack P: Jack was fascinated watching how John the Farrier hammered the shoe to shape it. He thought that was cool. Jack likes the horse racing picture on his powerpoint.

Noah P.

Noah liked watching John the Farrier work on Sisu. Jack likes the words and syllables on his project.

Tatum T.

Tatum didn’t get to participate in the clinic but she did research the topic. Tatum enjoyed learning if horses have to wear shoes or not as well as the whole shoeing process.
