Saddle Fitting Projects

HI HEART Center, We just did a saddle fitting clinic and BJ, a saddle fitter, came over to show us how to fit a saddle to each horse properly. What BJ did was she put the saddle on Chance, and pushed it on the front and back of the saddle. If it lifted up too far, it didn’t fit. Next, she tried to find a different saddle to fit Chance. When fitting Chance’s back, she put baby powder on to check where the saddle wasn’t touching his back completely. Lastly, she fit a saddle on Max, because he is the hardest to fit.

Everyone did projects on how to be a Saddle Fitter. These are our projects. We also listed our favorite parts of the clinic, making our projects, and what we learned.

Noah P.

Noah liked watching BJ work on Max to get the saddle fitted to him properly. Noah’s favorite part of his project was drawing the horses in a line.

Justin F.

Justin’s favorite part of the clinic was seeing the types of saddle pads and how to use them to make the saddle fit right. Justing liked labeling the parts of the saddle for his project.

Emma T.

Emma enjoyed watching BJ put the saddles on the various horses. Emma’s favorite part of her project was drawing arrows to the parts of the saddle.

Tatum T.: Tatum liked to see how the saddle fit on the horse with the baby powder. She enjoyed her project choice because she likes making powerpoints.

Jack P.: Jack enjoyed watching the process BJ used to fit the saddle to the horses. Jack loves creating powerpoints because he is good at it!

Skylar D.

Skylar wasn’t able to join in on the Saddle Fitting clinic but she really enjoys word finding puzzles and hopes that others will enjoy her puzzles too.

Elle B

Elle really had fun putting the powder on the horse’s back so BJ could set the saddle on it and tell whether it fit properly. Elle really enjoys matching games and her favorite part of the project was learning more about it.

Holanie F: Holanie likes putting on baby powder on Chances back. Her favorite part of her project was working with powerpoint because she feels really good at it.

Peyton C: Peyton enjoyed learning about the various types of saddles during the Saddle Fitting Clinic. Her favorite part of her project was finding something fun to do for the class.
