Private School
Equine-Based Private High School
“The High SCHOOL with the Horses”
Our equine-based private school is the perfect blend between homeschooling and traditional school. We infuse equine-assisted learning and recreation into traditional academics to inspire our students to learn. Currently serving 8th-12th graders with mild to moderate disabilities.
With two academic pathways, students and families have the choice to focus their educational pursuits to best suit the needs of their children. Our curriculum meets AZ State Education Graduation Requirements and places a heavy focus on the development of essential life skills and vocational skills needed post-graduation.
If you are looking for a personalized experience with small group social interaction, The H.E.A.R.T Center High School could be the perfect fit.
Individual Therapeutic Programs
Therapeutic Riding
"It's more than just a ride"
Therapeutic riding uses the horse as a catalyst to reach physical, cognitive, social and emotional goals. We work with the participant and the family to create an individualized therapeutic plan that is incorporated into each riding session.
HOW IT WORKS
Our students work with a team of PATH-certified instructors, trained volunteers, and steadfast horses to foster their functionality and independence. Personal confidence, emotional growth, and behavioral accountability are only a few of the developments that are facilitated through therapeutic riding. Skills such as balance, muscle control, flexibility, and attention are advanced through various riding activities and horsemanship responsibilities.
Riders are supported through a team of 1-3 volunteers who may assist them through leading the horse and/or providing physical or emotional support. Riders often begin in private sessions and as riding ability progresses, move into a group with students of likeability and riding skills to foster peer-peer social development.
